FCB New Zealand fights against impulsive shopping!

The holiday season is here, and if you are struggling with the desire to impulsively buy everything you see in the online and offline environment, know that at least in one place in the world there is a solution for that!

FCB New Zealand, in cooperation with the PAK’nSAVE supermarket chain, used the well-known mascot of this chain, which promotes savings, Stickman, to encourage further savings.

Stickman usually appears on user screens for only a few seconds, but in December he read for three minutes to help potential customers curb their propensity for impulsive shopping.

The ad shows Stickman using his DIY adblocker to block ads for products that would otherwise be grabbed.

The idea was for this hero to impose himself and block everything that can seduce you and lead you to unnecessary expenses. Unlike most supermarkets, PAK’nSAVE wants to save money for its customers. Their goal is to offer people what they really want – the highest quality food at the lowest prices.

After a difficult year for kiwis, due to the Covid-19 crisis, the campaign was supposed to show that the company cares about its consumers. Stickman is here to help people save their hard-earned money, so the approach has been tailored to the market.

The campaign was launched on TV in December, so the residents of our favorite island will be warned to curb unnecessary spending on the big screens.

As we do not have a similar campaign here, we will have to control ourselves. We need to think about what we really need, what our loved ones need, and choose just that. The challenge is great, but in the end, we can make smarter shopping choices, even during the holiday season!
